An Intensive, Community-Based Day Treatment Program for
Delinquent Pre-Adolescent Males and Females

Program Objective:
To reduce further involvement of youth in the juvenile justice system. To help youth be accountable for their actions, develop victim empathy and take greater responsibility for the quality of life in their community. To develop measurable competencies that help youth to become more responsible and productive members of their communities.

Program Highlights:
- Intensive Day Treatment Program located near Cottman and Interstate 95 (transportation provided)
- Operates six days per week, morning through evening
- Serves male and female youth ages 10-14.9 years
- Educational program, social work services, social and life skills group work, community services projects and recreational activities
- Small class size; teacher to student ratio is 1:8
- Nutritional development program, includes three meals per day

Components of Treatment:
- Year-round academic school program with a special educational component
- Conflict resolution skills training
- Individual, group and family counseling
- Comprehensive social work services to youth and family
- Extensive recreational activities
- Community partnerships with Fairmount Park Commission, Philadelphia Cares and the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank

Admission Criteria:
- Male and female youth, ages 10-14.9 years (must be in middle school)
- Youth must be adjudicated delinquent or dependent
- Full scale IQ of 70 or above
- Youth must be able to fully participate in treatment, without severe restrictions from physical activity (medical clearance may be required)
- Youth with a history of assaultive behaviors, serious sexual offenses, fire setting or severe emotional, psychological or psychiatric disorders will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Youth must have a parent or guardian who is willing to participate as a member of the treatment team
